INTERVIEWS

Living as an African has its ups and downs, just like every other situation. Knowing the dopest rappers, mastering the latest dance moves or having a voice like Beyoncè’s does not necessarily make you an African. Most people see color, but not everyone sees racism. Part of being an African is having a new hairstyle every few weeks, meeting new relatives you never knew you had until someone throws a party, having a surname hardly anyone can pronounce, having to call everyone older than yourself “aunt” or “uncle” and, yes, having music in your blood. This radio/blog interview is going to help you find out firsthand what it really feels like to be an African amongst Europeans. In other words, an AFRO-EUROPEAN. By Precious and Jessica Nnebedum.
